2014 NEMBUTSU GATHERING: PUMPKINS, DHARMA AND FUN

Sangha members of all ages from all four Honolulu Hongwanji temples will gather to participate in an event that combines the American tradition of Halloween with the Dharma and enjoy good fellowship.

PROGRAM

  Participants:

  • Gather at Hawaii Betsuin at 8:30 am for registration check-in and opening event;
  • Go on bus to the “Pumpkin Patch” (Aloun Farms) at 9:00 am. Need to know number of bus riders;
  • Gather and select pumpkins and pay for pumpkins (Small $5; Medium $7 and Large $9);
  • Return to Hawaii Betsuin by bus at approximately 11:00 am;
  • 11:00 to 2:30 pm – Carve pumpkins; have lunch; compete in carving contest; participate in other activities for all ages. Bring your own carving tools for pumpkin carving activity;
  • Closing Service (2:20 pm).

$5.00 PER INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANT
$10.00 PER FAMILY

  • All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Okay to drive to Aloun Farm on your own.
