The Hawaii Betsuin Choir Ohana enjoyed a wonderful Year of the Monkey celebration on March 24, 2016 at Moiliili Hongwanji.
After a delicious buffet dinner, the program began — humorous speeches preceded the gifts presented to Francis Okano, choir accompanist, and Mari Murakami, choir director. Special presentations were then made to honor members of the Choir Ohana born in the Year of the Monkey, Ruth Tokumi, Barry Brennan, and Francis Okano. A surprise thank you gift was presented to Wendie Yumori.
Warm mahalo to Betsuin Choir Pres. and MC, Fran Tsutsui, for making everyone smile with fun party games, prizes, and favors and to Ann Nakata for providing lovely floral decor and for masterminding the terrific karaoke program!
