Dharma Light Program -- Illuminating the Buddhist Path

Hawaii Betsuin is pleased to host the Dharma Light class “Understanding Shin Buddhism: First Steps” starting Saturday morning, November 12, 2016. Instructors are Hawaii Betsuin’s Barbara Brennan & Charlene Kihara, newly ordained as Jodo Shinshu priests (see photo below) and Minister Lay Assistant Dexter Mar.

The class is 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on six successive Saturday mornings (Nov 12, 19, 26, Dec 3, 10, 17) at Hawaii Betsuin. Topics to be covered include “What is the Shin Buddhist way of living?”; terminology, concepts, rituals, and services of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism; how Shin differs from other paths such as Zen and Tibetan.
