 column][/su_row]\n\nAbout the Teacher\nRev. Shigenori Makino was born in
  Kitakyushu\, Fukuoka\, Japan.\n\nHe studied Jodo Shinshu Buddhism at Ry
 ukoku University\, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degr
 ees. He later earned a Master of Science degree in psychology from Winon
 a State University.\n\nRev. Makino has served at several Hongwanji templ
 es in Japan\, Hawaii\, and Canada\, including Sapporo Betsuin\, Wailuku 
 Hongwanji\, Kailua Hongwanji\, Moilili Hongwanji\, Hawaii Betsuin as Rim
 ban\, and Toronto Buddhist Church. He also supported the establishment o
 f the Project Dana program.\n\nHe has also received training in pastoral
  care and has served as a counselor and chaplain in various communities.
