 column][/su_row]\n\nAbout the Teacher\nRev. Shigenori Makino was born in
  Kitakyushu\, Fukuoka\, Japan.\n\nHe studied Jodo Shinsh Buddhism at Ryu
 koku University\, where he earned both his bachelor's and master's degre
 es. He later earned a Master of Science degree in psychology from Winona
  State University.\n\nRev. Makino has served at several Hongwanji temple
 s in Japan\, Hawaii\, and Canada\, including Sapporo Betsuin\, Wailuku H
 ongwanji\, Kailua Hongwanji\, Moilili Hongwanji\, Hawaii Betsuin as Rimb
 an\, and Toronto Buddhist Church. He also supported the establishment of
  the Project Dana program.\n\nHe has also received training in pastoral 
 care and has served as a counselor and chaplain in various communities.\
