 e channel.[/su_note]\n\nAbout Buddha Day\n\n\nBuddha Day (Hanamatsuri / 
 Flower Festival) commemorates the birth of Siddhartha Gautama in Lumbini
  Garden.\n\nTemples hold Buddha Day services on or near this date. Servi
 ces often featuring a hanamido\, a miniature floral altar with a figure 
 of the baby Buddha. Attendees use a dipping cup to bathe the figure in s
 weet tea (see image).\n\nEach year\, the seven denominations that make u
 p the Hawaii Buddhist Council (HBC) hold a joint Buddha Day Service in H
 onolulu at one of the member temples. In 2026\, the HBC Buddha Day Servi
 ce will be hosted at Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin.
