About Our Speaker
Reverend Daido Baba currently serves at Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii headquarters as the Executive Assistant to the Bishop. Prior to July 2021, he served for seven years as an associate minister at Hilo Betsuin.
Baba-sensei was born in Miyazaki Prefecture in Japan and his home temple is Shineiji temple in Chiba prefecture. He received his Tokudo ordination in 2002 and Kyoshi ordination in 2008, the same year he graduated from Ryukoku University in Jodo Shinshu studies. He received a master’s degree from the same institution in 2010.
Reverend Baba and his wife Aki have three children, each of whom attends Hongwanji Mission School.
Baba-sensei’s hobbies include watching sports (especially, soccer), playing tennis, skiing, hiking with his family, and traveling.
