Please bring:
- non-perishable food items for Hawaii Foodbank
Most-needed items include canned proteins (like tuna or chicken), canned meals (like stew, spaghetti or chili), canned fruits, canned vegetables, bags of riceand/or
- period & hygiene products for Ma’i Movement Hawai’i
For ideas on period products to donate, you can review the Mai Movement Hawaii wishlist on the myregistry.com website or their Amazon Wishlist. You may purchase the products pictured or similar products wherever is most convenient for you and then drop them off on January 17. (Other types of hygiene products such as soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, hand sanitizer, etc. also accepted.)
…to Hawaii Betsuin’s back parking lot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the MLK Jr. Day holiday. Volunteers will be on-hand to accept your drive-thru donations. Thank you for your kokua!
Alternative Drop-off Sites
Windward Buddhist Temple and Aiea Hongwanji Mission are also drop-off sites (same hours) if those are more convenient for you.
Q: Can I drop off donations at the Hawaii Betsuin business office before the event?
A: Yes. We want to accommodate donations even for those not available to drop off on MLK Jr. Day. Please come between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Q: Can I shop online for items using the Mai Movement Hawaii wish lists and have them sent directly to Hawaii Betsuin?
A: Yes. We thought of that too as an option that may be especially convenient. You may shop via their myregistry.com list or Amazon list. Please do so early enough for the shipments to arrive by Saturday, January 15. Please address shipments this way:
