Guest speaker Dr. Nina Guerrero of Sounding Joy Music Therapy

On Sunday, October 23, we present a special Dana Day Awareness Service at 10 a.m., in person in the hondo and via Zoom.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Nina Guerrero, the Clinical Director of Sounding Joy Music Therapy.

Dr. Guerrero’s message will focus on the impact of music on dementia and Alzheimer’s patients and its application in enhancing the quality of life for children and adults with various physical and mental health issues including autism and substance recovery.

There will be some special music and dance offerings as part of the service — and a box lunch for service attendees in the social hall afterwards!

Please note that on October 23, all three services (Japanese at 8 a.m., Dharma School at 9 a.m., and Adult English-language service at 10 a.m.) will be in the main temple. And after the 10 a.m. service, Girl Scouts will begin entering for an investiture ceremony that begins at 11:30 a.m.
