More About the September 2023 DIALOGUE, from the Organizers

As Shin Buddhists, in times of suffering, we look to our teachings, sangha, and Amida Buddha for both personal and organizational guidance. We’ll share our thoughts on the “Practical Dharma Guidance for Social Concerns” schematic as a framework for moving forward with social engagement at Hawaii Betsuin.

  1. How do Shin Buddhists address social issues differently than other organizations?
  2. Do Shin Buddhists have a unique perspective to share with our community?
  3. How might we really “Go to the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha for guidance”?

About the DIALOGUE Project

The DIALOGUE Project is a project of Hawaii Betsuin’s Social Concerns Committee in which sangha members and friends are invited to explore social issues with others through a Buddhist lens. DIALOGUE typically meets on the second Thursday of every other month (some exceptions), 7:00-8:30 p.m. at Hawaii Betsuin, 1727 Pali Highway and/or by Zoom, TBA. All DIALOGUE topics are contributed by participants, all suggestions welcomed!
