"Training the Mind" book cover

Thursdays in the Annex Temple (pictured above)
5:30–6:05 PM – Book Study + Q&A on Training the Mind and Cultivating Loving-Kindness by Chögyam Trungpa
6:15–7:15 PM – Guided Meditation + reflection and Q&A

Lojong is the ancient Buddhist tradition of mind training practiced since the time of the Buddha — for nearly 2600 years. Its purpose is the cultivation of a compassionate heart and an intelligent, awakened mind. Through these practices, we learn to transform difficulties into insight, soften habits, and develop inner stability and kindness.

Venue Notes
Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin’s Annex Temple (pictured in the header) is to the ocean side of our main temple building. Access is easiest from our back parking lot accessed at 1742 Lusitana St. An accessible walkway leads from the ocean side of the lot, past a small courtyard, to the Annex Temple on the left.

Hawaii Betsuin is pleased to provide space for this offering from a different tradition and gratefully receives donations from the class each week. 🙏

For more information, you may message Lama Wangchuk at (808) 256-5999.

You are welcome to come to the book study, meditation, or both.
