Hawaii Betsuin Temple Building Centennial Celebration

You are all welcome to join in this joyful occasion to celebrate Hawaii Betsuin’s 100-year Anniversary of the Main Temple building. To commemorate this milestone, there will be a Chigo parade, a special service, and a catered bento lunch.

Make this day an unforgettable family memory.

Chigo Parade

At the Chigo Parade, children will wear kimono and special makeup to enrich the joy of this celebration.

Entrants in the parade may be infants to children with maximum height 4’9″. The registration fee is $30 per child, which includes lunch. On October 13, entrants check in starting at 8 a.m. and change into kimono with the parade at 9 a.m. (from the entrance to the main temple) followed by picture taking. Note that Chigo is not limited to Hongwanj members.

Please drop off or send in your Registration Form for the Chigo Parade by October 5, 2018.

Kimono Fitting:
October 7, 2018 (Sun)
11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the main temple.

Centennial Commemoration Service

At 10:00 a.m., please join us for a special Centennial Commemoration Service at which several past Rimbans of Hawaii Betsuin will be in attendance.

Luncheon

Following the commemoration service will be a catered bento luncheon in the Social Hall.

Special Bento Lunch: $25 for adult, $10 for child (included for children who register for the Chigo Parade).

To order bento for the luncheon, please RSVP to Hawaii Betsuin by September 28, 2018. The Betsuin office also has printed forms with which you may order lunch and submit payment.
