In November 2018, Hawaii Betsuin board member David Atcheson participated in an interracial, intergenerational bus tour of key sites in the U.S. Civil Rights Movement in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Pilgrimages are organized twice a year by Seattle-based nonprofit Project Pilgrimage.

David will present highlights of his experiences on the tour as well as insights from meeting with the tour cohort in the month prior to the tour.
