Rev. Yuika Hasebe is the guest speaker for Makawao Hongwanji’s Virtual Eshin-ni and Kakushin-ni Service on Sunday, April 26 at 9:00 a.m.

The virtual service will be presented as a Makawao Hongwanji Facebook video.

Even if you don’t have Facebook, you should be able to view the video at the appointed time (and after). After you visit Makawao Hongwanji Facebook videos, scroll if needed to see the video indicated with a red “LIVE” label, then click it. If a box appears to ask if you want to log into Facebook or create an account, just click the small “Not Now” link at the bottom of the box.

“This special service celebrates the life of Lady Eshin, the wife of Shinran, the founder of the Jōdo Shinshū Hongwanji tradition, and Lady Kakushin, their youngest daughter. Without the contribution of these extraordinary women the Jōdo Shinshū Hongwanji tradition would not exist. The BWA (Buddhist Women’s Association) continues the tradition of women playing a major role in the Hongwanji temples around the world, and is the sponsor of this service. Everyone is welcome to join in this special service with guest speaker Rev. Yuika Hasebe of Hawaii Betsuin.”
