Hawaii Betsuin will hold a mini Green Fair after a combined, 9:30 a.m. service on April 14, 2019.
Join us for this Earth Month activity, our 3rd Annual!

THEMES:
“Go Local”
Bees & Pollinators

Activities

paper bee with sticky legs ready to collect pollen

Take your paper bee to each station like a passport and collect pollen!

Affiliated organizations will host “booths” with green-themed activities and sales.

  • Make a beeswax wrap with the Green Team’s Mottainai ad hoc group and take another step in reducing plastic waste.
  • Make a spinning top from bottle caps with Dharma School.
  • Shop local at the MiniMarket organized by the Buddhist Women’s Association (and try a honey-sweetened beverage).
  • Plant a bean seed with Fukuda Seed Co.
  • Learn about reef-safe sunscreen and eco-friendly alternatives with the Girl Scouts.
  • Plus: Purchase a bamboo utensil kit in a temple-sewn wrap while supplies last!
Please also join us on the following Sunday for the Earth Day Service on April 21, 2019. Guest speaker is Michael Kieran of the Honolulu Diamond Sangha / Palolo Zen Center.
