The 2017 Hawaii Buddhist Council Buddha Day Service, or Hanamatsuri, celebrating the Birth of Shakyamuni Buddha will be hosted at Jodo Mission of Hawaii and the guest speaker will be Dr. George Tanabe, president of the Society for the Promotion of Buddhism (BDK) Hawaii and professor emeritus of religion at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Light refreshments will be served.

Please bring your donation to the Buddha Day Service. Recommended are non-perishable food items like canned goods, rice, spaghetti ingredients, pasta, corn starch, cooking ingredient and so forth. Monetary donations also accepted. Thank you for your dana.

Parking

Additional parking will be available at Shriner’s Hospital for Children (on Punahou St.); the gate between the parking lot and the temple will be open on the north side of the parking lot.
