Join Us 10/21 for the 2023 Honolulu Pride Parade!

On Saturday, October 21, the 2023 Honolulu Pride Parade starts off from Magic Island, and all Oahu and Honolulu District temple and organization sanghas are invited to join our Hongwanji Parade entry.

Each group will carpool itself to the Parade and be in place with us by 8:00 a.m. to start off at 9:00 a.m.

Get your Parade shoes on, and let’s Share the Joy of community together!

    Parking: Note that arriving early for Magic Island parking likely means before 6:00 a.m. As the parade chairperson says,

    *** Please note that parking is very limited at Ala Moana Beach Park. Consider alternative public parking lots such as Kewalo Basin, Kaka’ako Waterfront, Kapi’olani Park (at the end of the parade) and/or ride-share service (Uber, Lyft), carpool, bus, walking or taxi down to Ala Moana Beach Park.

    What to Bring: Besides the clothing and sign ideas above, we urge participants to come prepared with:

    • water bottle
    • sunscreen
    • hat

    Pride Parade sign idea - rainbow sagarifuji with "ALL-Embracing Wisdom & Compassion"

    On Wednesday, October 18, we are hosting a sign-making session in our Dining Room from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

    We’ll have some supplies on hand like poster board, markers, and paint and will have access to a color printer. Feel free to bring your own supplies too.
