On Sunday, July 14, 2019, all are invited to participate in mochitsuki — pounding steamed rice into mochi! The first pounding will be at 9:45 a.m.

A few more details:

  • The plan is to make 5 batches of mochi (5 pounds per batch).
  • Setup will be at 8 a.m.
  • After the first pounding at 9:45 a.m., poundings will be every hour following.
  • We will have tsubushian (red bean paste filling) to share.
  • Members are asked to bring their favorite fillings (fruits and other sweet treats).
