kadomatsu with gold fan

Honpa Hongwanji Boy Scout Troop 49 will offer Kadomatsu — a traditional Japanese New Year’s decoration made from bamboo, rope, and greenery — on Sunday Dec 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Annex Hall is the lower level of the newer temple building makai (ocean side) of the main temple.

The Boy Scouts will have a “suggested donation amount” depending on the size of Kadomatsu, as sizes will vary as they are cut and assembled by the scouts, leaders and families from the natural sizes of the bamboo. Proceeds will supplement camps, scouting equipment and supplies.

Thank you for your support of Troop 49!
