Hongwanji Spring Bazaar Returns Sunday, March 26!!
After three years, Hongwanji Spring Bazaar is back! Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. (no Sunday services that day). This year, the rummage sale will be in the Annex Temple and the food “booths” will be in the Social Hall.
Spring Bazaar Highlights
- “Ono-kine” Foods: waffle dogs, manju, bitter melon, takuan, inarizushi, barazushi, spam musubi, chicken katsu, pork adobo, Hawaiian honey and more!
- Rummage Sale: housewares, clothes, much more. Deals galore! Check out our Craigslist posting.
- Pre-sale for Pickup: Maki Sushi (order online on this page or purchase tickets at the office)
- Popup Arts and Crafts Sale in the lounge featuring local, innovative creators (see news item or click flyer image to enlarge!)
- Specialty items from Moiliili Hongwanji and Windward Buddhist Temple in addition to Hawaii Betsuin
- Baked Goods by Girl Scouts and Susan Fein’s Pu‘uwai Gluten-Free Bakery (Donations of baked goods sought. Please see news item.)
- Books: Hongwanji Cookbooks, Paul Arinaga’s “Go Native: Growing Native Plants”
- Plant Sale by Sudhana Fellowship. (Donations of plants sought. Please see news item.)

You may order here online or purchase sushi tickets through the office. Hawaiian Plate purchases are online only.
Orders must be picked up on the day of the Bazaar between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. (one hour prior to the end of the event). No refunds or exchanges.

Parking & Bus
With the food booths relocated to the Social Hall, there will be parking in both the back and front parking lots this year.
We have also arranged for additional parking at nearby locations. Please see the parking map below.
If parking at the temple is full, attendants will be prepared to direct you to the alternative parking.
Bus #6 stops at the temple on Lusitana St. See #6 route map and timetables.
