October Service Notes

  • Hawaii Betsuin continues offering in-person services in October, and the 10 a.m. English-language service is also available online via Zoom.
  • Simple refreshments are now being offered after the 10 a.m. service.
  • Please take note of any signage at the temple regarding masks.

    About Our Guest Speaker: Rev. Kuniyuki had a career as a university instructor and computer consultant from 1977-1994 before becoming a Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii minister. “Rev. Kevin” received his second-level (Kyoshi) ordination in Kyoto in 1996 and first served as an associate minister at Hawaii Betsuin. He was soon assigned to the 4-Temple Council on the Big Island as a resident minister, going on to serve in the same capacity at Wahiawa Hongwanji. In 2012, he was assigned as Director of the Buddhist Study Center & Office of Buddhist Education, a position he had held until retiring in 2021.
