About Talk Story

Talk Story is a local tradition in which relatives, friends and neighbors share their lives in unstructured dialogue. For many years, Hawaii Betsuin has offered Talk Story events with guest Dharma teachers to share our journeys on the Nembutsu Path. Participants can share their Nembutsu stories and Dharma Moments which are expressions of gratitude for Amida Buddha’s wisdom and compassion.

For people new to Buddhism and Jodo Shinshu, Talk Story is a comfortable way to initially engage with the Teachings and the Sangha (the religious community).
