Jeris Amazaki

Jeris Amazaki, the Betsuin’s new office manager

Welcome to Jeris Amazaki, who has joined the Hawaii Betsuin staff as Office Manager. Jeris was previously Office / Business Manager for Paradise Properties, Inc. & Tradition House Foundation, a landscaping company and housing organization. He is a graduate of Aiea High School and has attended Leeward Community College and UH West-Oahu.

Jeris grew up in Hālawa Heights, a district of ʻAiea. He was first exposed to the Hongwanji as a young child thanks in part to his great-grandmother, Chizuko Alice Fujioka, who was a devout Shin Buddhist. He started attending ʻAiea Hongwanji Mission Dharma School in intermediate school and was actively involved in Jr. YBA, becoming Federation Treasurer his senior year in high school.

Jeris is pleased that his work life has brought him back to the Hongwanji and thankful for the opportunity. He noted the support he has felt while settling into his new job, saying “The membership has shown me nothing but patience and warmth and I am truly grateful.”
