Current forecasts predict Hurricane Lowell will pass west of Kauai and Niihau, but emergency officials warn its path remains uncertain and its impacts can be felt far from its center. Lowell could bring rainfall of 1 to 2 inches, with maximum amounts of 4 inches to O‘ahu. This rainfall may produce locally significant flash flooding and mudslides, especially in areas of steep terrain. Heavy rainfall associated with Lowell will begin to impact the Hawaiian Islands Sunday afternoon and continue through early next week. As the situation may continue to change, please monitor the latest weather conditions and official advisories carefully.

Given the current forecast for Hurricane Lowell, Hawaii Betsuin will remain open through the September 5-6 weekend. Depending on the actual conditions in your area, please use your best judgment in attending any scheduled services, meetings, or other temple activities.
