BWA members, Pacific Buddhist Academy students and staff, and other members from Hawaii Betsuin and island Hongwanji temples joined once again in the Martin Luther King Jr. Parade through Waikiki on January 21, 2019.

Here is Wendie Yumori, Hawaii Betsuin Buddhist Women’s Association Past President, with Alphonso Braggs (at right) and friend before the start of the parade. Mr. Braggs was a speaker at Betsuin’s Talk Story on “Buddhism and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” two days earlier. Mr. Braggs is the President of the Honolulu Hawaii NAACP.
