Aloha to the Betsuin Ohana,
We hope that this letter finds you in good health and embraced in Amida’s compassion.
This year, the temple’s major improvement project was the repaving of the temple’s front parking lot and driveway, which were in desperate need of repair. During the process, two inches of the existing pavement were removed, re-compacted and resurfaced. The whole procedure went very smoothly, and we appreciated everyone’s understanding and cooperation during the work. In addition, there were a few smaller projects that were completed such as the repair and update of the Rimban’s residence and the refurbishing and professional coating of the main hondo’s circular lamps. In total, the temple used about $127,000 of our General Development Fund.
Our Capital Improvement Plan, which will take us to the year 2020, will require approximately $130,000 per year to be added to our General Development Fund, to complete each years’ planned projects. The next major endeavor is the repainting of the temple buildings, which is estimated at around $300,000.
We humbly ask for your support of our Capital Improvement Plan through this year’s Annual Giving Fund Drive (formerly Year-end Donation Drive.) With the united support of our membership of roughly 800 member-families, we hope to make the temple a safer and more attractive facility for all to enjoy. To those of you that have already donated to this fundraising plea through the Foodland Give Aloha program in September, we thank you for your early contribution. Please submit a copy of your receipt to the office, if you have not already done so.
Please use the accompanying form to ensure your donation is correctly recorded. As our temple is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, your donation is tax deductible to the maximum extent allowable by law.Sincerely, in gassho,
The Ministers and Board of Directors
