Rev. Hiromi Kawaji was this year’s Eitaikyo Service speaker. He was born in Kagoshima prefecture in 1934. He graduated from Ryukoku University. He had his Tokudo ordination in 1950 and Kyoshi status in 1955. He moved to Hawaii in 1961. Rev. Kawaji served at Honpa Hongwanji HQ, Kapaa Hongwanji, Pearl City Hongwanji, Wailuku Hongwanji, Hawaii Betsuin as a Rimban, and Aiea Hongwanji. In 2004, after working over 40 years for Hawaii Kyodan, he retired and is living together with his wife, Mrs. Chizuko Kawaji. Rev. Kawaji has two children, Yumi and Takayuki.
