Learn about the history of the Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin Project Dana Dancers, formed in 1997.
Dana is a sanskrit word meaning “selfless giving” and Project Dana is a “Dharma in Action” program. The dancers are an extension of the Project Dana group at Hawaii Betsuin. The dancers practice weekly from September to May and then perform at nursing homes during the summer months, much to the joy of residents.
