A note on funds raised: The Takeis have made it clear that all proceeds will go to the Honolulu Hongwanji Council, a consortium of Honpa Hongwanji temples, to be used to promote social justice activities and programs including those pertaining to LGBTQIA+ outreach, to build community with historically disfavored groups, and to support programs such as this event. None of the monies raised will go to the Takeis. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Spill the Tea Café.
