Update 10/26/25
At it’s October 26 meeting, the Hawaii Betsuin Board amended the voting procedure to allow absentee ballots. After the November 16 election meeting, a final ballot will be available by request for those who do not vote in person at the election meeting. Absentee ballots must be received at the Betsuin Office by noon on 11/30, after which all ballots will be tallied by ministers.

While most officers have indicated they are willing to serve again, the positions of VP of Religious Affairs and Treasurer are open. Also, a number of elected board member positions are open. Technically, all positions are open for nominations except President. (We have a President Elect that will become President in 2026. If we elect a President Elect, that person would take office in 2028.)

Betsuin members are invited to nominate people to serve on the board. Note that per our bylaws, only currently serving board members are eligible for officer positions, and only current dues-paying Betsuin members are eligible to serve as elected board members. For information on the current board, please see the board roster.

Nomination Procedure

To nominate a current board member for an officer position or a current temple member for a director position, please provide your nomination to any board member or email it to our webmaster. We ask that you make sure your nominee is willing to serve.

Please include the name of the nominee and, if possible, a short bio of 25 words or fewer and get it in by November 2, 2025. (You may also include supplementary information; the bio would be for the election materials.) Mahalo for your participation.
