Honpa Hongwanji Hawaii Betsuin is one of four Honolulu District temples participating in a food drive for Kahauiki Village, Duane Kurisu’s affordable long-term housing development for Hawaii’s homeless families. Last year, 30 families moved into Kahauiki Village Phase I. In August 2019, 30 more families will move into Kahauiki Village Phase II.
We will be collecting canned goods (meats, vegetables, fruits, soups, etc.) and items such as coffee, rice, and cereal from Sunday, June 30 to Sunday, July 28.
Please drop off food items at the Hawaii Betsuin office during business hours.
Warmest mahalo for your kokua!
