  • Due to Hurricane Lane, Hawaii Betsuin will be closed on Thursday Aug. 23 and Friday Aug. 24. We are monitoring the situation for Saturday and Sunday and will update this post as any additional decisions about closures etc. are made.
  • Hongwanji Mission School, the Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii headquarters office, and Pacific Buddhist Academy will also be closed 8/23 & 8/24.
  • The Hawaii Betsuin office is working with families to reschedule memorial services as necessary.
  • The “Wednesday Gang” worked with Elmer Cagaoan (the staff person for maintenance) to secure the temple site today and prepare contingency plans if further measures are required. Their efforts are greatly appreciated.
