Betsuin members and friends are invited to bring a photo of mom on Mother’s Day, Sunday May 12, for the “Mother Tree.” Participants use mini-clothespins (provided) to attach their photos to a tree-like framework made from bamboo and strung with twine. The activity was a hit last year so we are offering it again in 2019 as a fun way to celebrate mothers.

The tree will be outside the hondo, our main temple hall, from the 8 a.m. service to soon after the 10 a.m. service, at which time we’ll take it down to the social hall during refreshments.

If you would like to add a photo to the tree, please bring a copy rather than an original heirloom photo. We suggest photos of between 3″x5″ and 5″x7″, mounted on paper with a caption — for example, your mother’s name, followed by your name in parentheses. Feel free to take your photo when you leave for the day, or leave it and we will collect them to keep for next year.
