Even though I say that Amida Buddha is always with you, you may say, “I cannot see the Buddha and I cannot feel the Buddha is with me.” If so, please recite “Namo Amida Butsu.” Namo means rely on. Amida Butsu means Amida Buddha. Namo Amida Butsu is the calling voice from the Buddha, “Please rely on me.”

Even though you feel loneliness, you are not alone. Amida Buddha is always with you. When reciting Namo Amida Butsu, we hear the Buddha’s calling.

Let us try our best to live every day, listening to the Buddha’s calling.

Dharmagrams are short messages by Hawaii Betsuin ministers. The series was initiated during the coronavirus outbreak of 2020 as one way to continue sharing the Dharma during the stay-at-home period.
