Honpa Hongwanji had a presence at the 4th annual VegFest Oahu on Peace Day, September 21, 2019. Activities included crane folding by Windward Buddhist Temple and peace aspirations on leaves for the Peace Tree by Pacific Buddhist Academy. The Hawaii Betsuin Choir performed Golden Chain at the VegFest music stage following an aspiration/reflection by Bishop Eric Matsumoto.
Hawaii Betsuin helped with overall coordination for the Peace Day presence at VegFest Oahu, a project of the Honolulu Hongwanji Council with support from the Peace Day Committee, Social Concerns Committee, and Monshinto Task Force.
