As we enter the fourth month since the temple lockdown and the stay home state and city guideline, I would like to express my sincerest hope that all of our temple members and their families remain safe and healthy during this difficult time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

There is always a light at the end of this dark tunnel and nothing lasts forever. This is the Buddha’s teaching on impermanence. Let each of our days be moments of mindfulness of Amida Buddha’s Compassion and let the wisdom of the Dharma, not fear, serve as our guiding beacon as we travel the Nembutsu path together despite the difficulties we may encounter on the way. There is no obstruction to the workings of Amida Buddha’s Vow.

Dharmagrams are short messages by Hawaii Betsuin ministers. The series was initiated during the coronavirus outbreak of 2020 as one way to continue sharing the Dharma during the stay-at-home period.
