Our community is now in an emergency lockdown due to COVID-19. As a result, we must stay at home. Of course, I feel sorry for the people who are suffering and passed away due to the coronavirus.

However, I try to think that the lockdown is a very good opportunity for me to reflect on myself. I reflect on how I was working like a bee in a beehive before the lockdown. I often ate meals while watching my computer and swallowed the food without tasting it.

Now I am grateful that the lockdown gives me the occasion to try to do everything such as walking, eating, and doing temple jobs slowly and mindfully.

Dharmagrams are short messages by Hawaii Betsuin ministers. The series was initiated during the coronavirus outbreak of 2020 as one way to continue sharing the Dharma during the stay-at-home period. (This Dharmagram published 4/14 is the first one; next one coming 4/16!)
