There is a saying: “A chain is as strong as its weakest link.” These words couldn’t be more appropriate in this critical time of the COVID pandemic. Humanity is facing a crisis of epic proportion and requires a collective defense against a perceived threat to our existence, a tiny virus that has taken the lives of so many people already.

For all the inconvenience of staying home, being unable to gather in public places, restricted traveling and social distancing, there is the chance to defeat this pandemic but it can only happen if we all do our part and observe the guidelines set forth. For if even one link in our chain of defense proves to be weak, the rest will continue to suffer. Let us do our part to keep ourselves strong and resilient in the face of this adversity. We are all in this together.

Dharmagrams are short messages by Hawaii Betsuin ministers. The series was initiated during the coronavirus outbreak of 2020 as one way to continue sharing the Dharma during the stay-at-home period.
